jogging...

i've often found myself doing individual sports or atheletic activities which allow for the flexibility of either individual or group involvement... so it's not too difficult to go jogging on my own... in fact, i tend to do a lot of things on my own... got used to it as a little girl.

anyways, it usually takes my silly body a while to get used to being awake... and after a late light breakfast of wheat cereal and blueberries drowned in vanilla soya milk, it takes another while for the digestion to follow... once all that physiological activity has stablized... i drank some water before putting on my nikes and headed out to greet the world... and to start my jog... the first few minutes are the worst... it's like your body is in protest, and quite rightly so!... but once you get your breathing and pace right... the revolt subsides... and you can go on for quite a while...

sometimes you stop for a stretch before continuing on... today i didn't (eeeks! will pay the price tomorrow and the day after... sob) and pretty much jogged about 5Km (some 35 minutes later) before deciding to have a wee break even though i could perhaps have carried on a little more... i walked about a Km or so in the other direction before jogging back to where i started... it's hard to get back again once you have had a break... and when you get back into your pace, you suddenly realise how heavy your bottoms are! quite incredible.

i am a very slow runner/jogger... keeping my pace at about 8.5Km/hour speed i reckoned... but it doesn't really bother me if people sped pass me... jogging is very much a mental thing... you talk yourself into doing it, you keep yourself at it and so other people are merely distractions... especially if they raised a V with their fingers to say hello, or if they exposed their muscular torsos and their wash-boards...

checking the path i took on gmaps-pedometer online, it seems i covered about 10.5 Km today... taking about 1hr and 20-30mins thereabouts... i usually do a shorter (~4km / ~20-25min) jog in the week and leave the long distance for the weekend... with some luck... and good training dilligence (*moan*)... i MIGHT be able to manage the 10K run without stopping...

unlike last weekend's jog, i didn't amuse myself too much with the houses, birds, traffic etc. today... but i learnt that today was Danish Day... there was a party going on with a bouncing castle too... i've never been in a bouncing castle... but kids here and in the uk seem to have it at parties... maybe you get a better bounce with a trampoline...?

after the jog, i headed to Lunds to get some groceries before walking home... carrying in addition to my shopping, a stem of star-gazer lilies with 5 buds ready to burst open and gaze the world...
