i am trying to figure out what to do about my expiring entry-visa... while my DS2019 has been extended, i'd like to have the option to travel... without which i am literally STUCK here... but often on the info. pages on the us-consulate websites, they ask if you MUST travel... sometimes, the word 'must' is so misplaced... so inappropriate.
i still have the return portion of my 2-way flight ticket back to edinburgh which expires in early july... there are a couple of things i could sort out back in edinburgh... and a running event i could participate in... perhaps even rescue ugly duckling from its captivity...
but really, the university of edinburgh REGISTRY is so ineffectual with it's administrative work and messed up my status record... i honestly don't understand how they could have done that?! it's not like they don't receive registration by mail... in fact that's what they do now instead of the physical queues snaking about each year.
best of all the papers and supporting documents i sent a year ago are probably recorded under my clone's name... the same name, and there are 2 records of me... and i wonder which one they deleted... probably the wrong one.
sometimes, i wonder if i ought to have a clone living in the uk just to make sure that people get things right... like Royal Bank of Scotland and its personnel could not even send my wire-transfer requests properly for each of the 4 times i have requested for it!!! i had to call them up from the US to tell them to get their act together and refund the wrongly billed transfer fees!!!
i don't enjoy finding loop-holes/glitches in systems... but i seem to encounter them unwittingly. CRAP.
apartment lease renewal is due soon too... and i am not sure what to do about it, particularly with the element of uncertainty re visa...
research is finally heading in some direction... and i don't really want to leave before finishing some crucial analyses...
i honestly don't understand why the US has such a ridiculous policy... most countries would renew your visas and entry permit inland...
i can't even contact the us-consulate in london by phone outside of the uk!
oh help... this is such a pain...
***ps: ---- ski-anecdotes still being updated ..........
oh no. poor you. hope things get sorted soon!
