waking up this morning was quite a shock to the system! the view that greeted me was not the magnificent snow-capped slopes that were just a short walk away from the Lodge, but the climbing-ivory-cad red-bricked building of the village apartments wherein i am tucked under my duvet... nor was i woken up by the smell of sizzling butter in the hot pan ready to scald the next blob of pancake mix that my brother's friends were making in the mornings... nope... i am back in Minnesota, where it is utterly flat, and where the Mississippi river starts its meandering; no where near the spectacular snow-covered mountains surrounding Salt-lake city, Utah... and i am back to where i left my woes... programming, and sussing-out-the-ARIMA-algorithm... sob.
the long weekend seemed as though it had been a dream, and the only thing that appears to render that dream real is the gradually dissipating muscle-aches! i had a lot of fun taking a break from my research work, meeting up with my brother (and his wacky pals), and learning to ski better... even if i did scare myself silly!
... my golly! ... did we have a splendid time... ! pics and annecdotes to follow...
