to celebrate ones obstacles...

it's a trying time for many...

i am acutely aware of the slipping of time... not just with reference to my own research woes but also to other people's lives... my dear Uncle Albert, who has been corresponding with me via snail-mail over the last 15 years, and who is probably closer to me than any of my real uncles and relatives out there, writes loving letters to send me cheer even when he himself is going through a challenging time. age-related health complications can occur at the most unwelcomed time... yet he cajoles:

"Everything seems to come at once, not unfamiliar in the world from a Taoist point of view. Life's journey goes over peaks, through valleys to an inevitable end. And although that road may not always be easy it is very satisfying to have walked that road.

My dear..., do celebrate the perceived obstacles into positivity so that you too can remain 'chirpy and bouncey'!"

it makes me teary to read these words... it makes me wish time could stop for a very long while... it makes me wish i could have figured out how quantum mechanics worked so i could teleport myself anywhere whenever i wanted to... growing up is such a hard thing to do... to be strong when things go awry, when people you hold dear are not near, and when you know, deep down... nothing stays the same and nobody lives forever.
