missing hogmany...

i wish i could be somewhere else today... frollicking in the snow on the mountains, or soaking up the sun on the otherside of the equator... or up on a specific hill in a specific country watching spectacular fireworks shoot into the heavens... but i am here... here where i don't feel i belong... and all the people i love so far away.

i tread with trepidation as 2006 looms near... i certainly hope it will be a less tumultuous year...

but whatever the new year might bring... this will be my song today, the song to remember what now seems like the old long ago...

Slide Well into the New Year peeps!

~Auld Lang Syne~

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,
And surely I'll be mine,
And we'll tak a cup o kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pou'd the gowans fine,
But we've wander'd monie a weary fit,
Sin auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

And there's a hand my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o thine,
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught,
For auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!

I read that as misogyny at first.

?!?! hope you aren't experiencing that hatred... or feeling guilty about it implicitly... hahaha
