hey nonny nonny...

while uploading my pics for an earlier entry... i found a naughty poem that might go with this picture i took during my visit to the como park conservatory...

maiden-dipping in the cold pond
BEAUTY BATHING

by: Anthony Munday (1553-1633)

BEAUTY sat bathing by a spring,
Where fairest shades did hide her;
The winds blew calm, the birds did sing,
The cool streams ran beside her.
My wanton thoughts enticed mine eye
To see what was forbidden:
But better memory said Fie;
So vain desire was chidden--
Hey nonny nonny O!
Hey nonny nonny!

Into a slumber then I fell,
And fond imagination
Seem?d to see, but could not tell,
Her feature or her fashion:
But ev'n as babes in dreams do smile,
And sometimes fall a-weeping,
So I awaked as wise that while
As when I fell a-sleeping.

.... oh! when will it be summer again...?!? a dipping in the lakes would be splendid in the scorching heat only a few weeks not so long ago... but not in this frozen season of snow and biting chill... sigh.

I love the picture and the poem! Perfect for each other.

The intensity of each season made me love each one even more. The cold of winter depressed me but it also helped me look forward to the lush blooms of spring. It will go away, this freeze, dear tiggie. Keep busy, and it will go away quickly. =)

=C) thanks for the warm encouragements, monoceros! i am also touched by some of the generosity of my colleagues here... a lift home in their automobile in this crazy cold weather is definitely a delightful offer!

D, yes and no... i sometimes turn it on at work to communicate with my other colleague over programming stuff but only if i know he's online... which is almost never so i don't get the help i need. it's apparently illegal here in the USA and the uni is not very happy about people using it, fearing that the user might become a super-node over time...

at home i am dailing up so i doubt the quality is that good... msn is still the better bet although it's rather wonky of late... haven't had any time to look into why... so much for the convenience of technology.
