weather is real freaky here... from some 12-15 degC it went drastically below 0 in a matter of hours (at least in the middle of the land mass)... it was a glorious 15-20 degC in d.c. and before i knew it, storms and snow had delayed all flights entering and leaving Chicago where i had to pass through to get back to Minneapolis.
i was told i would probably have to spend the night in Chicago because my connecting flight would have left by the time i arrived... that made me rather annoyed... i couldn't quite understand that it made economical sense for the airline even if the plane was only taking the crew back to MN, rather than waiting for more passengers... but apparently it is... but more annoying was that i had been up since 7 am and i wasn't inclined to spend another 7 hours either awake or trying to sleep... sob... i did that once in London and it wasn't pleasant... which is why i would always try to avoid flying into Heathrow...
anyways... as luck would have it, the flight leaving from Chicago was also delayed... and i made it despite running from gateB to gateC and then back to gateB again with all my belongings to catch the flight at 12:15am... whoever is watching over me does have a great sense of humour sometimes. hmm. in any case, i think the dime i found on my way to D.C. was probably a lucky charm...
i arrived some 2-3 hours later on early Wed. morning and was welcomed by the snowy landscapes... the first fall of snow this year... and sub-zero degrees... sob. autumn left all too suddenly.
