what better way to spend your saturday morning than coping with flickering and intermittent electrical supply (which meant that the hot-water supply wasn't working 100%, there were black-outs and i couldn't work from home etc.) that was already playing up badly the night before and the week before... and to be greeted with "holy smoke" when you finally leave the flat to go out to see the world... scent of burnt rubber in the common stairway and you wonder what's going on... the next thing you know, your neighbour has rang the fire brigade and the sirens are just about killing your ear-drums as you step outdoors and join your other neighbours wondering what is wrong with the electrics and where is the burning coming from. for once you actually see your neighbours and talk to them...
why i am always the one from the flat to deal with all this crap is my question. first, the lights, then the leak, then the electrics, the small DIYs and now this... why is everyone not in when things go wrong? well, N has her boyfriend's place to seek refuge -- and she goes there whenever things go wrong here, A is always away when such things occur... and me? sigh. even if they are in, i'll still be the one to deal with it... i've always been the one... who else would have the initiatives or be quick enough to act?!
if i ever get a chance to re-write the meaning of luck... i will.
i hope the electricity will have returned when i get back... wish me better luck please... thank you.
