Isn't it possible to have someone take care of her for a year and a half? I'm sure she won't take too much space in someone's apartment? It's so hard to say goodbye. Someone came to take away my futon yesterday, which I put together on my own when I first came. And then one bookshelf went away, and then my pot-and-pan collection. I feel so silly for being attached to these things (your cello, at least, is special).

You will always have the memories, tiggie. I think you should try to keep yr cello though.

i'd rather sell it back to the string instrument store than leave it with a friend who has no use for it... i doubt ruth or lucy would have enough space to store it... unless my supervisor is willing to have it under his grand piano... or somewhere dry... or unless someone needs an extra cello for a year or so... maybe i could ask the store manager if they could keep it for me for a year and they can rent it out if someone needs it for a few months... but still i might have to say goodbye for good.

everyone gets attached to their things... i still have the good ionised pot i use to cook almost everything including rice! that followed me to T?bingen and back and i am tempted to take it to the US with me... and my french cooking knives by Sabbatier! and i'd need to find a temporary home for my storage bench...
