many days

there are many days like today, yesterday etc. when i just wish i could give this phd up and look for a job instead. things aren't going too well... all the proposals seem far too risky/ambitious and there's just so much technical issues to resolve; supervisors don't seem to have much time to speak in person (and i find communicating via emails annoying especially when you have to describe technical aspects... drawing seems more intuitive) and i am just thinking i might have been too rash in deciding to do a phd... and should have taken a year off academia. it's a journey which i don't think is mentally healthy (and would definitely be very hesitant to encourage anyone else to try) and i feel like maybe i should get out soon... before i go crazy. =C(

sorry to hear this. wish I could offer a solution but I can't. I hope that things work out. I won't say it was a mistake to do a PhD. You're passionate about your work and you're good at it. Hang in there.

thanks for the encouragements... although i am not sure if i am really good at what i do.

it's going to be a very long low phase (it might span 3 years?!)... and mental struggle... sometimes, it's hard to hang on to the thin string of hope even if you are interested in what you do... sigh. this is terribly unhealthy.

glad it's finally raining yonder. enjoy! you might even want to 'dance' in the rain... i did that once, it was fun... although the neighbours thought i was insane...

snow's melted away here.
