just gave a talk to the other postgrads about what i did in Tuebingen... only managed to finish the powerpoint just before the talk --- really terrible... and was feeling all nervey... confused myself and probably others in trying to explain what the (rather complicated) experimental paradigm was... but the diagrams helped me to get it right in the end and although i think completely otherwise, others have told me it went well (huge dissonance there!)... i am feeling like the manuscript would take longer to finish... there is potentially a lot more i could cover in the review and discussions... and guess what? in the process of re-thinking about the whole thing... i think i am developing what might be termed as "physiological envy" instead of what psychology people often term "physics envy" following Freudian "penis envy"... i just think the experiments in physiology are just so well controlled these days... the interpretations are almost evident... to me that's a rather 'clean' inference of observations... many psychological studies lack that rigor... sigh...

anyways... excuse my gibberish babbling... i am taking a wee break now to see if i can find a copy of "Distance & Proximity" for dear ruth who's celebrating her birthday today!
