i wonder if you would be a less tumultuous year for everyone...
there are people still suffering the wounds of 2004,
some will have to live with them for all the years to come.
yesterday, we welcomed you up on the Blackford hill,
and surrounding us, the annual near-mid-night pilgrim visitors,
were the well-known Hogmany fireworks thrill...
while marvelling the dazzling light display,
my thoughts travelled far far away...
to family and friends i've only a few days ago bade goodbye...
to family and friends i've had to say goodbye
to many stranded victims of the recent natural calamity
to their lost loved ones...
to those who still dream of peace
in other lands stricken with injustice...
the wind buffeted us from all directions
the clouds hid the celestial lights,
and in the snow-less winter night,
we kept ourselves warm with homemade mulled wine,
raising our mugs to a happier 2005.
lovely post...
yeah, let's hope it'll be a happier 2005.
