i noticed the wee yellow post-it i transferred from the pseudo bathroom door in the loft to the door frame of what is now my room and smiled. it reads :"...the world is buzzing and i am trying to be a bee..." a wee rambling i wrote into one entry many days/weeks/months ago... on the post-it though, there's a little bee i doodled and it's moved from one bit of the post-it to another...
buzzzz....
why... i feel like a busy bee today! no doubt i got up late, despite an early morning knock on my door by A who's off to the Law library to fish out some case notes for her take-home paper... and after a weak start wheezing and feeling slightly miserable as illness does to you, i decided i needed to stop dilly-dallying and get into some day-clothes and jump onto my lovely bike and get the errands/tasks done.
- renewed my travel and musical instruments insurance (just so i feel a little less paranoid...)
- got my new denim trousers shortened at QuickStich with the intention to have the original Levis hem sewed on... (but that would take too long...)
- picked up a few chrismassy things/treats for the family...
- food shoped and bought ingredients for cake which i am bringing for dinner on sunday at cello teacher's! (except i forgot about white chocs because i last minutely decided not to bake a cheese cake but brownies instead which would be less complicated...)
- practiced cello
- cleaned the flat (one should never say they would clean the flat and not manage to do so last week only to feel guilty so you feel you have to compensate and do the said cleaning this week.... )
- make some x'mas cards (yet to be done)
got back into the flat and away from the blizzardy wind only to witness the bulb of the lamp in my bedroom blow with a click of the switch. grrr... so i darted off again to find replacements... but i am now rather chuffed to be enjoying a brighter room! rah.
still i haven't quite accomplished everything... especially not the meeting up with people thingy which i didn't list... because i was leaving so soon compared to others, i wanted to say happy hols properly but my good intentions in telling people about wanting to meet up never quite materialise into an actual gathering... i was planning to have a dinner thing but then being ill makes you feel like that's too much of a hassle and then the suggested rendezvous at the Elephant House seemed not too good a time for people so it fizzled out... but Lucy's coming over for breakfast tomorrow and Ruth might pop round too... it's probably better this way... i am not very good with and in crowds... (am always looking for rabbit burrows...)
guess i better turn in... i should of course start packing soon too... but i still have sunday evening...
