for almost a decade, i have braved the coastal rains and harsh wintry storms without proper waterproof trousers... it was most terrible in my first year in Tuebingen, for some reason, monsoons hit europe and i got home drenched from head to toe nearly everyday during winter... even my cool Gore-Tex Northface Jacket (now almost an extinct dodo) was nearly soaked through. although i make real attempts in looking for one... i never seem to find one in the right size, the right style or the colour... yet today i bought myself a pair from Berghaus partly because Tiso (the outdoor gear store on Rose street) didn't have a Northface overtrousers for women in my size (nothing is ever in my size... UK8 or 6 for summery dresses if they ever exist in those sizes) in stock, and partly because i was quite keen on those i tried on. eventually, i got a size bigger for the pair of overtrousers that is "...engineered for Extreme Wet Weather" and "Sculpted for Women" (wow) so that i can pull them over my jeans, cords and whatnots... finally, aah finally i can happily say... "let it rain let it rain let it rain!" .... well actually... i'll need to get some new gloves too (among other needs to replace some really old but cherished clothing -- *sob* -- and a chronic hunt for happy shoes...)! ... and let's hope i don't change my mind and return it back to the store for whatever reasons...
