new hairdo!

i went for a hair cut yesterday after realising how hay-like they have become... phoned up Charlie Miller -- and got an appointment for midday with a 25% student-discount -- one of the perks of being a student even when you're doing your phd! considering how often i get a haircut i was determined to make it last...

i love going to hair-dressers here... not only do they give you by default a wash, shampooing and conditioning, they add a wee head massage too... ahh.... and they'd ask if you'd like a cuppa... how nice. they talk to you to ask what you'd like done or how... my answer for the last 2 visits to hairdressers has been on the lines of 'messy, and natural' ... i am such a scruff. oh well..

i am also such a bore. a trim and lots of layering ensued... i got daring far enough with a long fringe.... but the best part was that Kara, the hairdresser, actually listened to my requests and didn't blow-dry me hair into a revolting 60s bob. she did so just running her fingers through my straight dark hair... and then suggested that i could try adding some curls (like those natural ones that i so envied and wish i could have) with hair-straigheners...i was in an exploratory mood and said, "okie!"...

it was fun...it's quite miraculous... i mean in seconds, my boringly straight hair started to assume some form of waviness and curls that actually stayed! (well they are NOT permanently going to stay but at least for a day or two i guess)... wow...my hair is doing poses and static dancing --it was really quite exciting... how much does one of them cost? hmm... too dear. oh well... i'll just enjoy the works when i get another haircut... some half-a-year later....

some flick flick flick... and shaking my head about... whaala... my scruffy Meg-Ryan-like hair with some style... hope it'll stay like that for a while longer...

pictures were here... now they are gone....sorry.

Please have photos! Or email to us! Seriously, Tigs, I'm curious. My hair texture is a little like yours and I'd be curious to see what else I can do with mine. Am bored with it. And I love the messy, natual look too!

Oh Tiggie, send us pics!! but a word of advice, perms are super high maintenance, a nuisance actually!! If you want waves, I can teach you how to do it but of course anything DIY is not going last long. Save your money, not worth just perming at the salon to get waves!!! They dun last very long too!!
