dinner at moi's avec Ruth!

while i have been complaining about food last week... i actually made Ruth and myself a rather nice dinner yesterday before going for a bit of fun Ceilidhing at the Rudolf Steiner School, not far away from my wee loft. here's the menu...

starters: a simple but light and refreshing salad i once concocted -- made of rocket lettuce, a handful of red seedless grapes, a continental pear roughly cut in chunks, coarsely grated parmesan cheese and topped with a light dressing composed of about 2 teaspoonsful of comb honey and about the same amount of olive oil, a dash of pepper and salt and about 2-3 tablespoons of water.

main: a courgette-mushroom-tomato lasagne with a herby French le roul? soft cheese + cr?me fraiche + parmesan white sauce.

afters: panna cotta with caramel.... (i had to use up my wee sachets of the easy-fix i found in Z?rich when i visited my classmate Susanti and her husband Michael last year, but i will share a recipe of how to make it from scratch some day!)

it certainly is more enjoyable cooking for others than for just me.... even more enjoyable is when one cooks for others who actually appreciate the food one serves... however, it is possibly most enjoyable when you cook for friends who share the same sort of food passion :C) ... i think i can now maintain sanity for a few days.... phew.
