just had a crazily fun time at the Caledonian Brewery Ceilidh-dancing with Annabel and friends.... haven't had such a good laugh for ages... or a workout of such! managed to catch the last bus from the area back into town and walked back to my wee loft.... on my way, feeling peckish, i did somthing i haven't done for eons....i got a takeaway from Lee On and was quite amused to find that i could order something not on the menu...it's not always possible... but asians do get away with it i think... (they have separate chinese and 'european' menus, which i think is rather sad...) anyways.... i have been happily devouring half the full portion of the 鸡丝河分 (i hope i got the chinese characters right! someone correct me if i get them terribly wrong....me is so rusty! anyways it's shredded chicken rice noodles).... it's definitely something i have been craving for... sigh.... there're so many yummy things i miss....perhaps i shall list them down so i can remember to gobble them up the next time i am in asia....
in no particular order...
* laksa (this is a spicy noodlely coconuty yummy stuff)
* fish-head curry
* kangkong (an indonesian vegie-stir-fry with chilli)
* tou hu goreng (that's a malay dish i think... fired beancurd with spicy peanutty dip and some veggies too)
* chicken rice
* 红烧豆腐 (it's a yummy sort of fried beancurd with a delicious sauce)
* 薄饼 popiah! mummy's popiah.
* minced pork noodles...
* fried carrot cake (no i don't mean the british carrot cake fried...nope. this is something quite different in taste and texture!)
* fish... done in all ways... i miss fish... well, i get salmon here but not very often...
* sugar cane juice with a squeeze of lemon or lime...ahh...
* ...hmm...perhaps i should stop in case i feel hungry again...
FYI: i just devoured all the noodles.... terrible... feel like a piggie... oink oink.
