my potpourri of news, muse n views

reading news from all over the world?.

browsing through almost two month?s stack of Guardian Weekly last night and this morning made me feel rather depressed?. and fortunate not to be living in some other parts of the world. there is little joy in reading news these days, you?d be quite amused to discover something non-gruesome or nothing of the wrangling about the various wars, the apparent illogic and circumlocutions of whatevers?. or something not about the decay in morality, nor our apparent blas? attitude towards our historical monuments while trying to flirt with the prospects of economic growth?.or neither that the climate and geology that inspired Darwinian philosophy are in great threat nor that we are experiencing the various incomprehensible consequences (e.g. harsh winters and burning summers) and not about people who could use their ?powers? to evoke changes but do not find such issues of commercial merit?. you would like it all to be otherwise...

1 rewarding piece of news: Australian architects build Indigenous hospital with organic features and philosophy in New South Wales?. i wish such concepts could be more prevalent?. that's what i'd like to be doing had i studied Architecture.... hmmm bummer.

the German connection?

chatted to Sabine over the phone ?. she's studying for her big Medical exams (Stadts Prufungen ? State Exams?!)? i hope to address her as Dr. Kurzeder in a month?s time, when she might visit me here in Scotland!

musical pursuits?

been feeling guilty so i rang Andrew and apologised for not practicing nor being able to arrange cello lessons? but there will be hopefully some little cello-playing together with his other new students soon?. i am looking forward to that! had to confess to trying to play Bach in secret (and sounding terrible)?but it was well-received! *cheeky grin*

current random musing?

still in my pyjammies?contemplating? i should do up the dishes which is piling up ?and create another ?artistic? cutlery and crockery sculpture (which i do every time i do a washing-up) ?.hmmm

darn i keep getting distracted?.i should finish up my programming?.and not dream about reading poetry or prose? or procrasto-blog?or watch the clouds float by through the sky-light window from where i perch?.

I have the Ma Yo-Yo recordings of Bach's cello suites. He's even got a music video, would you believe.

i have that recording too! love it.. although i'd prefer if he had played the Prelude of the first Suite a little more adantino...and not as fast as he played it...

will try to figure out this silly comment bug... meanwhile...i am afraid you'd have to live with it! :Cp
