Ruthbuth was really kind to drive us to IKEA today so i could finally pick up the ALVE storage bench (that is back in stock) which i have been waiting for since Oct. 2003. i also managed to get some filing-dividers for the bench and for the office, and a pair of new flowery curtains to brighten up the room in the morning --- a new attempt in helping myself embrace the new day every morning (i do have a bit of a problem you see, i love lying-in... and i do find it excruciatingly difficult to get out of bed). it took me ages (as usual) to decide which sorts of curtain or prints i'd like to have.... i picked a pair with olive green flora prints on white cotton because they remind me a little of Laura Ashley's flowery prints (and because the other colourful prints which i adore and the linen ones were too dear?.and i would have had to make the curtains myself if i had chosen to buy some cloth with the colourful prints which would be slightly complicated without a sewing machine). ...i do have some sort of an obsession with little flowery things.... and i am slowly becoming aware of this idiosyncracy.... think i must have inherited this from mummy.
i really ought to be marking essays but instead i spent the afternoon building up the storage bench?. and i am glad i did?. it feels a lot more satisfying to be able to visualise one?s work. i'm so chuffed! something to sit on and something in which i can put things, and it's wheelable too!
then the procrastination carried onto the curtains?.
(sorry for the poor curtain-picture resolution...i only have my little phone digicam...)
i'm glad i finally got some curtains to replace the other dreary old one which makes my wee place rather dark. now they even match the white blinds that have been fitted to the french-windows (or doors?)! i've started taking the curtains up at the bottom ends and it will probably take me a good week?s work to finish all the hems since i have to do it all by hand?. but Ooh?me is so happeee!
