i walked to the department this morning through the foggy paths of the meadows..Arthur's Seat was completely invisible?.the visual environment was so local (as opposed to global) that all i could really see ahead of me was merely whatever/whoever that was 3-5 meters away. fogginess is a distinct characteristic of places near the sea?.i was fondly reminded of my 2 surreal but amazing years at Atlantic College (UWC) in Wales, UK (some bits of the new website are still being constructed), where the college is situated right next to the Bristol Channel and i had many a time, treaded with care through the gravel path separating the sheep from the cows, while all i could really see in front of me is literally nothing but whiteness... and making my way to the dinning hall in the castle for breakfast.....and the humming of the fog horn still seems so vivid...
a few hours later, the sun bestowed her presence and the wind has blown all the fogginess away...such is the quick transition of the weather, particularly here in Scotland.
